Begining of Summer Break 2024

 

 

In the first week of summer break, me and my family stayed in Dubai. We had 2 amazing days. First, we all went to Legoland Waterpark, It was so much fun. We went on water slides, family rides, wave pools, splash pods and big dippers. We had a fantastic day.

 

 

The next day, we all went to Motiongate Theme park. There were so many rides for all ages, I was the only one brave enough to go on the roller coasters. In Motiongate, all the rides are themed after famous movies (Dragon riders, Shrek, Kung fu panda and more). We went on the Shrek puppet ride, the cloudy with a chance of meatballs water ride, and much more. That was the end of that amazing day.

For the next few days we stayed home because we had to pack our suitcases for our trip to Sri Lanka this year. See you in Sri Lanka! 🙏

Winter Break 2023

I am going to tell you what I did in the winter break. We started off on Friday, the first day of winter break. Me and my brother went with my mum to a place called Roli Poli. Roli Poli is a play place with super-fast slides, a speedy donut slide, ball guns, a big trampoline and lots more. It was really fun there. The best thing there for me was a super-fast orange slide that makes your tummy flip as you go.

Moving on to Saturday. On Saturday all of my family went together to a waterpark called JA Resort in Jabel Ali. The trip took one hour and we were very excited to go there. JA Resort is a huge waterpark with waterslides, a pool, a splash pad and even a giant water bucket that hangs over everything and tips over every once and a while. We stayed there for the whole day.

Going on to Sunday. On Sunday, I went to Sunday school. Sunday school is a place for Sri Lankan children to learn about Sri Lanka. After Sunday school my brother came to pick me up with my dad. 

On Monday I had piano class. We planned to go somewhere but we did not because my brother was sick.

On Tuesday I went to a place called Fun to day and went karting and gaming there. then we went to my uncles place to pick up some goods from Sri Lanka.

On Wednesday we went  shopping with my mom. We did not do much that day.

On Thursday I went to my cousins house to look after them because my auntie had a surgery that day. We stayed the whole day.

On Friday morning, we all went to the Big Bad Wolf. The Big Bad Wolf is a big book fair in Sharjah. We got books. After that, we went to Mamzar Beach and wet our feet on the waves. Then we went karting and gaming again at fun to day.

On Saturday we all went with my cousins to a hike next to Al Rafisah Dam. We climbed in a zigzag way. We did not go to the top because it was becoming very dark and it was too far.  After the hike, we all went to Rafisah Dam and fed the fish. Then we ate at pizza hut for dinner. That was all we did for Saturday.

On Sunday I went to Sunday school again and my brother went to his friend Addy’s house for a playdate. After Sunday school, my friend Dinuli came to my house to play.

On Monday we stayed at home because my mum was busy. We did not do anything that day.

On Tuesday the most exciting thing happened. WE WERE GOING TO KIDZANIA!!! In Kidzania, I got to do many many jobs. I got graduated from college. Did an obstacle course and even flew a plane! The day in Kidzania was really fun.

On Wednesday we stayed at home in the morning because we were cleaning the full house. It was a mess! In the evening when we were done cleaning, we all went to Global Village! We saw an amazing stunt show. There were people who set themselves on fire {by wearing a fire proof suit}, people who did cool jumps on a motorbike and even rode into the air. There was even one person who jumped off a 70 FOOT TALL PLATFORM INTO A POOL!!! How cool is that? That was a crazy day.

On Thursday my Dad went to office and me, my brother and mum went to the cinemas. The movie we were watching was called migration. It was about these ducks that wanted to travel to Jamaica and see the world. We even got ourselves a giant tub of popcorn. It was so much fun.

On Friday we went to the Dubai Safari Park. We got to see so many animals. We even got to go on a safari bus and believe it or not the bus went through the water! We saw tigers, lions, giraffes, crocodiles, hippopotamuses and many more animals. We also got to feed the giraffes. That day was so much fun.

On Saturday we went to my cousins house and stayed there for the night.

On Sunday it was the last day of 2023. We came back from our cousins house and I began to write my blog.

Here we are. The 1^st of January 2024. I did all my traditions. In the evening we went to a rock climbing Place called Adventure Zone with my cousins and played there for the rest of the day. We also got ice cream 🍦🍨🍦

Tommorow my school is starting again. I am so excited.

What I did in Term 1

Okay, here we are, the starting of the first term. I got into all my classes and got my logins for online recourses. Now let me tell you about my schedule. In my school, we have ECAs {extra-curricular activities} and I signed up for a whole lot of them. On Monday, I have a musical ECA which is steel pans. Steel pans are very fun and we even played a concert for the parents! For Tuesday, I had choir, another musical themed ECA. I got to sing at a hotel. On Wednesday, I have netball club. I played many matches against different schools and won some of them. Finally on Thursday, I have swim squad and after that I have netball club. Friday is my free day and on Saturday morning I have swimming class for 2 hours. On Sunday I again have swimming and after that I have Sunday School.

Now I am going to tell you about my sporty weekend. On Friday 10th November I had the annual netball gala. It was in Abu Dhabi and we all had to wear our club netball dress. The gala was outside so we all had hats and electrolytes and energy drinks and all the other stuff. On Saturday, I had my Aqua Swimming Academy swim comp. I won 2 certificates and a medal. The first certificate was for 3^rd place in board paddling and the second certificate was for 2^nd place in backstroke. The medal was for participation. Finally on Sunday, I went in the early morning with my dad to go to the Dubai Ride. The Dubai Ride is a cycling event with 2 routes to choose. The first route is called the family route and it was around  5km. The second route was called the Sheik Zayed road route which is around 14km. We initially wanted to go on the family route but ended up on Sheik Zayed road route. Now let me tell you the crazy thing. When we decided to go back home, we suddenly realised that we were lost, beasue most of the roads were closed. We ended up going all over the places, and when we finally got in to the car, we had cycled more than 23km. We went almost 5 times as much as the family route. What a crazy day!

 

 

 

The first day of term 1 year 5

The summer holidays are almost finished. It was very fun while it lasted. Now I am settling down at home for the last few days of vacation. Here I am, the first day of year 5. The school bell rang and we all lined up. We sang the national anthem and went to our classes. My class is 50 and My teacher's name is Ms Crookes and my assistant teacher's name is Ms Massy. My class is really big and has lots of learning recources. Most of my friends were in my class and I also made some new friends too. Some of my friends are in a different class. Year 5 is great.

The day we came back to UAE

So, this is the day that we finally have to go back to Dubai. We were all very sad but we knew we will go again next time. After we said bye we left to Colombo airport. It was a very long journey but eventually we got there. Meanwhile my mum got us a very tasty rice and we ate it. On the flight I was very sleepy and fell asleep straight away. I even missed my meal!  

Once we arrived at Dubai Airport, my dad was there to pick us up. I was so happy to see him. Then, we finally arrived at our home. That was the end of my summer vacation in Sri Lanka for 2023.

My first visit to the Dental

On an extremely hot day, my mom took me to get my teeth cleaned. It was my first time going to the dentist and I was so excited to get my teeth cleaned. We were going to Asiri hospital in Kandy. 

Once we arrived the doctor told me how to brush better than how I do it now. Then she took a tool called a scale and cleaned my teeth. Another doctor was holding a miniature vacuum to take the dirty parts out. It didn’t hurt when she was touching the teeth but it hurt a little bit when she touched the gums. 

Then when my teeth were finally done, we said thank you and went home. I was really happy. That was the end for that day.
